Q. Where do the cars at Delaware Auto Exchange come from?
A. Most of our cars come from new car dealerships in the Mid Atlantic area as well as bank reposessions, private sellers, fleet companies, wholesalers, you name it.
Q. Can anyone buy a car at Delaware Auto Exchange, or do I need to be a dealer?
A. Delaware Auto Exchange is open to everyone! Our customers include dealers, wholesalers and the general public. All that is needed to drive away in a car today is your driver's license and proof of insurance.
Q. What are the hours of the auction?
A. The auction runs every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to about 9:30 or 10 p.m. Pre-registration, which is required in order to bid on cars, runs from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The Delaware Auto Exchange also is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. DAE is closed on Monday's.
Q. How do I pre-register for the auction?
A. You can use our "Express registration" feature on DelawareAutoExchange.com and fill out all the necessary information any time before Thursday afternoon. Then, when you arrive at the auction, report to the "Express registration" lane in the office, show your driver's license, make your $400 deposit, sign the form, receive your bidder's badge, and you're all set.
Q. How do I sell a car at Delaware Auto Exchange?
A. Individuals wishing to sell a car at Delaware Auto Exchange must have a vehicle title that is free of any liens, must show a valid driver's license and pay a $40 registration fee. Cars can be brought to Delaware Auto Exchange any time during business hours Tuesday and Wednesday and up until 5 p.m. Thursday.
Q. Do cars purchased at Delaware Auto Exchange come with a warranty?
A. All cars sold in the auction are sold "As is," which means there is no warranty available.
